DAY 1: ŞANLIURFA - GÖBEKLİTEPE:
We begin our mysterious tour with our guide waiting for us at the airport.
HALIL-ÜR RAHMAN MOSQUE - AYN ZELİHA (BALIKLI GÖL) - RIZVANİYE MOSQUE and the cave where Hz. Ibrahim was born, Sipahi Market, Kazzaz Market, Hacı Kamil Inn, Hüseyiniye Bazaar, Naccar Market, Historical Customs Inn, The Great Mosque and Kitchen Museum are visited and explored, then we will see the archaeology museum and the mosaic museum, followed by heading to Göbeklitepe. Then the road will take us to Göbeklitepe, which is considered one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in human history, dating back 12,000 years, shaking the truths of known written history. Göbeklitepe is believed to be the first pilgrimage center. "Based on the studies conducted so far, Göbeklitepe is one of the oldest temples known, located in the Mesopotamia region. Göbeklitepe presents important data regarding religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. We will explore how the people of the period could create a sacred space to live their groundbreaking beliefs architecturally and socio-economically, while also shedding light on their religion, religious symbols, technology, and sciences. Afterwards, we return to our hotel for accommodation.
DAY 2: MARDİN - DARA
After having our breakfast at the hotel, we head towards Mardin. Our first stop here is Mor Behrem Kırklar Church. After receiving information from the church official, we take a walk through the narrow streets of Mardin, seeing the Mardin Museum, Latifiye Mosque, and the Ulu Mosque, which is one of the most important structures in the region. Then we visit the PTT building, which has hosted many series and films, and after visiting Şehidiye Mosque and Medrese, we pass through the Abbaras, which are symbols of Mardin, and board our vehicle to Kasımiye Medrese. In this extraordinary architecture, which provided education equivalent to a university during the Seljuk period, we learn about the courtyard philosophy in Southeast culture before we complete our visits and turn our route towards Deyrulzafaran Monastery, which was the center of the Syriac people in the world until 1932. After gaining information about the monastery, we head towards Dara, known as the Ephesus of Mesopotamia. In this ancient city, which is located on the Silk Road, we examine the remains of the world's first water dam, remnants of the fire towers built for the god Ahura Mazda worshipped by the Achaemenids in antiquity, as well as the castle (Daras Anastasiupolis), church, bridge, water canals, water cisterns, bazaar, rock tombs, and remains of residential buildings. The interactions we will have with the locals and their efforts to show us the nuances of Mesopotamian hospitality will prove once again how strong tolerance and love are in the region. After leaving part of our hearts here, we return to our hotel in Urfa for accommodation.
DAY 3: DIYARBAKIR
After having breakfast at our hotel, we head towards Diyarbakır.
After glancing at the historic Hasan Pasha inn, we will visit the Diyarbakır Ulu Mosque, considered the 5th Harem-i Sharif of the Islamic world. We will visit or at least glance at the house of Ziya Gökalp, a historical house in Diyarbakır within the walls, and the houses of Ahmet Arif and Cahit Sıtkı Tarancı. We will visit Hz. Suleyman Mosque, which has the graves of 27 companions, where the son of Halit bin Walid was buried. Then, we will show the famous Diyarbakır Prison, which is used as a museum, from the garden without entering. After seeing the famous On Eyes Bridge and the historical walls, we will reach Hevsel gardens, and then the Tigris River greets us…. After visiting the historical Diyarbakır walls, which are considered the longest walls in the world after the Great Wall of China, and Keçi Burcu overlooking the Tigris River, Gazi Mansion, Hevsel gardens, and the On Eyed Bridge, we will say goodbye to you and take you to the airport to conclude our tour.
