Tour Detail
DAY 1: ADIYAMAN:
At the airport, we meet our guide and start to explore Adıyaman. Then, we head to Kahta in minibuses for a magnificent sunset. We visit the Karakuş Tumulus, built by the first Antiochus for his mother Isias, and then make our way slowly to the Cendere Bridge, constructed by the Romans. Next, we go to Kahta Castle to take photos before exploring the summer capital of the Commagene Kingdom, Arsemia. We climb to Nemrut, where we see the tumulus and the god statues built by the young and powerful King Antiochus to witness the sun rising from beneath his feet and setting once again. You will never forget the sunset at this magical place, where the sun sets most beautifully in the world. Then, we transfer to our hotel in Urfa for accommodation.
DAY 2: URFA
After having breakfast at the hotel, we head towards Göbeklitepe. This site is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in human history, dated back 12,000 years and shaking the foundations of written history. Göbeklitepe, which is considered to be the first pilgrimage center, is one of the oldest temples discovered to date and is located in the Mesopotamia region. It provides significant data on religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. We will explore Göbeklitepe in architectural terms, as well as socio-economic aspects, enlightening us about how the people of that era could create a sacred space to embody their groundbreaking beliefs, along with insights into their religion, religious symbols, technology, and sciences.
After our visit to Göbeklitepe, we head back to the center. We will visit the HALIL-UR RAHMAN MOSQUE – AYN ZELIHA (BALIKLI GÖL) – RIZVANİYE MOSQUE, the cave where Hz. Ibrahim was born, Sipahi Bazaar, Kazzaz Bazaar, Hacı Kamil Inn, Hüseyiniye Bazaar, Naccar Bazaar, Historical Customs Inn, Ulucami and the Culinary Museum, and then we will visit the archaeology museum and the mosaic museum. Finally, we will drop you off at the airport, concluding our tour.
We hope to meet again on another CEMGÖNCÜ TOURISM organization.
