DAY 1: URFA- MUSEUM-GÖBEKLİTEPE
After picking up our guests from the airport, we head to the place where we will have breakfast and start our tour. Our first stop is Göbeklitepe, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in human history, dating back about 12,000 years, deeply shaking the accuracy of recorded history, and believed to be the first pilgrimage center. "As a result of studies carried out to date, Göbeklitepe, one of the oldest known temples, is located in the Mesopotamia region. Göbeklitepe provides important data on religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. Göbeklitepe, which we will examine architecturally and then socio-economically, gives information about how people of that period could create a sacred space to experience their unconventional beliefs, and sheds light on their religion, religious symbols, technology and sciences. After completing our visit to Göbeklitepe, we move to the city center and begin getting to know Şanlıurfa. First, we visit and tour HALİL-ÜR RAHMAN MOSQUE – AYN ZELİHA (SACRED FISH POOL) – RIZVANİYE MOSQUE and the cave where Prophet Abraham was born, Sipahi Bazaar, Kazzaz Bazaar, Hacı Kamil Inn, Hüseyiniye Bazaar, Naccar Bazaar, the Historical Customs Inn, Ulu Mosque and the Kitchen Museum, then visit the Archaeology Museum and the Mosaic Museum, after which we set off for Harran. Here, we visit the conical-roofed clay Harran houses, the ancient ruins of Harran University, which is considered the world's first Islamic university, the historical Harran Castle remaining from the time Harran served as an Umayyad capital, the Harran walls surrounding Harran, and the tomb of the region's famous sheikh, Hayat el-Harrani. After these visits, we transfer to our hotel for the night, and after plenty of fun and rest, we prepare for the next day.
DAY 2: HALFETİ-GAZİANTEP:
After breakfast at the hotel, we head toward HALFETİ.
We will try to get to know Halfeti, which the Assyrians called Şitamrat. Another feature of Halfeti is that it is the only place in the world where the black rose can grow. On a boat trip, we will see the ruins of structures such as the Rum Kale, where Paulus, the apostle of Jesus, multiplied the Gospel, with the Aziz Nerses Church, Barşavma Monastery and water cisterns. After crossing the suspension bridge, we begin getting to know Gaziantep. Our first stop here is the GAZİANTEP ZEUGMA MOSAIC MUSEUM to see the mosaics excavated from Zeugma (Belkıs). After visiting Gaziantep Castle and the panoramic time tunnel of the Antep War of Independence, we visit the historical Coppersmiths' Bazaar, where copper product workshops, widely used in the city in the past, are located; the Historical Zincirli Bedesten, the Historical Tahmis Coffeehouse, the Customs Inn, and the Gaziantep Hamam Museum. At the end of our tour, we head to the airport to see off our guests and say goodbye.
