Day 1 (Şanlıurfa):
Guests will be picked up from the airport and transferred to URFA, arrival in URFA, optional breakfast, followed by a visit to the URFA Archaeology and Mosaic Museum, then proceeding to BALIKLIGÖL, where we will visit the Cave where Hz. Ibrahim (A.S) was born, the place of the zikr assembly that has continued for four centuries, the historical Urfa castle and catapults, the cave where Hz. Ibrahim was thrown into fire and where the fire turned into water, wood into fish, the Balıklıgöl, Ayn Zeliha Lake, and Rizvaniye medrese. After the visits, we proceed to Gümrükhan, Sipahi Bazaar, Kazzaz Bazaar, Hacı Kamil Khan, Hüseyiniye Bazaar, Naccar Bazaar, Historical Gümrük Khan, Ulucami and the Kitchen Museum followed by a market tour. After that, we will go to the venue where the Sira Night (extra) will be held, enjoying a traditional Sıra Gecesi accompanied with dinner and then proceed to our hotel for accommodation.
Day 2: (ŞANLIURFA –KARAHANTEPE-SOGMATAR-ŞUAYİP-HARRAN - GÖBEKLİTEPE)
After breakfast at the hotel, we set off towards Göbeklitepe. Göbeklitepe is a journey to one of the most important archaeological discoveries in human history, dating back 12,000 years, which shakes the truths of written history deeply, believed to be the first pilgrimage center. Göbeklitepe is one of the oldest temples known, located in the Mesopotamia region. Göbeklitepe provides data that is significant in relation to religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. We will analyze Göbeklitepe architecturally and socio-economically while also illuminating us about the religious symbols, technology, and sciences of the people of that era. After that, we will head to Karahantepe, a newly discovered site that is 400 years older than Göbeklitepe, and experience the excitement of being among the first visitors of this significant discovery after our informative journey. Next, we will move to Sogmatar, which dates back to the Roman period (2nd century AD) and has been scientifically identified as a cultural center where people worshiped the moon and planetary gods during the Abgar Kingdom era near the Tektek Mountains of Harran. At the Sogmatar cult site, we will find a cave (Pognon Cave) dedicated to the moon god Sin, a hill (Holy Hill) with various god carvings and inscriptions in the ground, 6 square and round planned mausoleums (Tomb Monuments), an inner castle, and numerous rock tombs carved into the main rock. After visiting Sogmatar, we will transition to the Ancient City of Shuaip. After exploring the Ancient City of Shuaip, we will head to Harran. Here, we will visit the unique conical domed mud houses, the ruins of the Harran University, recognized as the first Islamic university in the world, the historical Harran Castle from when Harran served as a capital to the Umayyads, the Harran walls surrounding the area, and the tomb of the region's famous Sheikh Hayat El-Harrani Hazrat. After our visits in Harran, we conclude our day and return to our hotel for accommodation.
Day 3 Şanlıurfa – Halfeti
After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the Birecik district of Şanlıurfa, where we will stop along the way to visit the conservation park for the endangered Kel Aynak birds by the Euphrates River and have a tea break. After resting, we will continue to Halfeti, one of the rare places in the world with the title of Cittaslow, meaning "Slow City".
We will try to learn about Halfeti, which the Assyrians called Shitamrat.
Another feature of Halfeti is that it is the only place in the world where the black rose can grow. We will take a boat tour to see the remnants of the Rum Castle, where St. Paul, the disciple of Hz. İsa, is believed to have copied the Gospel, including structures like Aziz Nerses Church, Barşavma Monastery, and underground water tanks. After crossing the suspension bridge, there will be free time in the district, and if time permits, we will move towards the Atatürk Dam, one of the largest dams and projects in Europe. After examining the Atatürk Dam from the viewpoint, we will head back to Urfa and bid farewell to our guests at the airport.
