With the first light of the day, we set off from your city in our comfortable vehicle for a pleasant journey to Urfa, one of the oldest settlements in history. Accompanied by our guide's explanations, we learn about the region's history, geography, and legends while taking breaks for breakfast and other needs at suitable points along the way. As we approach Urfa, the enchanting landscape of Mesopotamia slowly pulls you in.
Balıklıgöl
Rızvaniye Mosque
Halil-ür Rahman Mosque
Aynzeliha Lake
Upon arriving in the center of Urfa, our first stop is the sacred sites in the heart of this city, known as the City of Prophets. We listen to our guide recount the legend of Prophet Ibrahim being thrown into the fire at Balıklıgöl and take a leisurely walk by the lake, stopping for photo opportunities. You will feel like you are within history as you wander among the mosques surrounding the lake, narrow streets leading to the historic bazaar, and the most exquisite examples of stone craftsmanship.
Urfa Castle
Gümrük Han
Historical Urfa Bazaar
Spice Bazaar
Coppersmiths Bazaar
Around lunchtime, we move on to Urfa's famous bazaars, where we have the opportunity to witness the city’s centuries-old trade tradition up close. You will be able to closely examine many products, from copper craftsmanship to handwoven carpets, local clothing, and spices. Guests who wish can shop or take a break in a traditional han atmosphere with tea and menengic coffee. For lunch, we will have free time at a local restaurant to taste kebabs, lahmacun, and other certified Urfa delicacies.
Göbeklitepe
Harran Plain (panoramic)
Harran Beehive Houses (included in the optional program)
After lunch, we will head to Göbeklitepe, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage list and has changed the course of human history. Accompanied by our guide, we explore this 12,000-year-old temple complex while listening to its discovery process, symbols, and archaeological significance. During the outdoor walk, you will see impressive landscapes and experience the excitement of being in one of the oldest worship sites known to history.
As the afternoon approaches, we return to the center of Urfa and provide a short free time. Guests who wish can taste the famous Urfa ice cream, make their final purchases of folkloric accessories and local products. We gather at the designated time to head back, making necessary stops, and drop off our guests at their original points. We conclude our DAY TRIP TO URFA with unforgettable memories, hoping to see you again on the next tour.

Important information
Since the tour will start early in the morning and end late in the evening, the meeting point and time should be confirmed in advance: Spending a large part of the day on the road and at places to visit makes it essential to clarify the meeting point and time beforehand, which prevents delays and confusion. It is especially advisable to be at the meeting place at least 10-15 minutes earlier, taking into account morning traffic, your personal preparation time, and possible disruptions.
The services included in the day trip to Urfa usually cover transportation, guidance, some museum/site entrance fees, and lunch if specified in the itinerary; extra expenses are not included in the price: Learning in advance what is included in the tour price will facilitate your planning of additional costs you may encounter during the day (personal expenses, some special museum entry fees, beverages, etc.). This way, you can anticipate how much cash or cards you need to take with you and avoid surprise costs during the tour.
Participants are recommended to bring comfortable walking shoes, season-appropriate clothing, a hat/sunscreen, and personal medications: Since there will be both outdoor touring and walking in historical areas during the day in Urfa, comfortable shoes and breathable, relaxed clothing will significantly enhance your tour experience. During periods of strong sun influence, it is crucial to carry a hat and sunscreen, as well as your regularly used personal medications and any necessary backup doses.
As the tour program generally includes cultural and religious sites such as Balıklıgöl, Göbeklitepe, historic bazaars, and mosques, modest clothing and respectful behavior towards places of worship are expected: Choosing clothes that cover the shoulders and knees is important to show respect to local sensitivities, especially when entering places of worship such as mosques and tombs, and to feel comfortable. It enhances group harmony to avoid speaking loudly in these places, not to disturb others while taking photos, and to follow the guide's warnings.
Photography may be restricted in some sacred sites and museums, so attention should be paid to the warnings of the guide and staff: In some places of worship, tombs, or museums, using flash or taking any photos may be prohibited; adhering to these rules is essential for both the conservation of the site and respect for the privacy of worshippers. Your guide and the staff will inform you where and how you can take photos, thus following their directions will protect you from potential warnings and penalties.
The refund and change policies of the tour fee (cancellation period, weather conditions, or lack of sufficient participation) should be read carefully before making a reservation: Knowing the last day for cancellation or date changes, deduction rates, and special situations (adverse weather conditions, failure to meet minimum participation, etc.) before completing the reservation will help you protect your rights in case of potential plan changes. This way, you will have clarified the tour company's liability limits and under which conditions you can request a refund or postponement.
