Tour Detail
We set off from Şanlıurfa toward Halfeti. It is one of the rare places that has been granted the title of Cittaslow, that is, a Slow City. Another feature of Halfeti is that it is the only place in the world where the black rose can grow. By boat tour, we will see Rumkale, where Saint Nerses Church and Barşavma Monastery, as well as the remains of structures such as water cisterns, are located, and where Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ, multiplied the Gospel. After crossing the suspension bridge, we will have free time in the district and then set off toward Adıyaman.
Along the way, after an explanation from the viewing terrace at Atatürk Dam and taking panoramic photos, we leave the dam area. Then, after visiting the Karakuş Tumulus, built by the mother of Antiochus I for Isias, we slowly head toward the Cendere Bridge, built by the Romans. Then, after going to the entrance of Kahta Castle and taking photos, and after visiting Arsemia, the summer capital of the Kingdom of Commagene, we climb up to Nemrut. We see the tumulus and the statues of the gods, built by Antiochus, the young and powerful king of the Kingdom of Commagene, so that he could watch the sun rise from beneath his feet and set again, and we receive information from our guide. You will never forget the sunset in this magical place, where the sun sets most beautifully in the world. We conclude our tour here. GOODBYE
