Tour Detail
At the airport, we turn our direction towards Göbeklitepe with our guide waiting for us. Göbeklitepe, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in human history, dates back 12,000 years and deeply shakes the foundations of known written history. It is believed to be the first pilgrimage center and is one of the oldest temples known as a result of the studies conducted to date. Göbeklitepe, located in the Mesopotamia region, provides significant data on religious beliefs in hunter-gatherer societies. We will examine Göbeklitepe architecturally and later socio-economically, shedding light on how the people of that period could create a sacred space for their disruptive beliefs, as well as enlightening us about their religions, religious symbols, technology, and sciences.
After completing our visit to Göbeklitepe, we turn our direction back to the center. We visit and explore the **HALIL-UR RAHMAN MOSQUE – AYN ZELIHA (BALIKLI GÖL) – RIZVANİYE MOSQUE**, and the cave where Hz. Ibrahim was born, along with **Sipahi Bazaar, Kazzaz Bazaar, Hacı Kamil Han, Hüseyiniye Market, Naccar Bazaar, Historical Customs Inn**, **Ulucami, and the Kitchen Museum**. We then visit the archaeology museum and the mosaic museum. Afterward, we take you to our hotel for your accommodation.
**DAY 2: MARDIN-DARA**
After having breakfast at the hotel, we turn our direction to the museum city of Mardin. Our first stop here is the Mor Behram Kırklar Church. After receiving information from the church official, we take a walk through the narrow streets of Mardin, where we visit the Mardin Museum, Latifiye Mosque, and the Ulu Mosque, one of the region's most important structures, and take photos. Next, we visit the PTT building, which has hosted many series and films, followed by a visit to the Şehidiye Mosque and Medrese. We then pass through the Abbaras, one of the symbols of Mardin, and get back in our vehicle to reach the Kasımiye Medrese. This extraordinary architecture, which provided education equivalent to a university during the Seljuk period, allows us to learn about the eyvan philosophy in Southeastern culture. After completing our visits, we turn our route to the Deyrulzafaran Monastery, which was the center of the Syriac people in the world until 1932. After obtaining information about the monastery, we head to Dara, known as the Ephesus of Mesopotamia. In this ancient city located on the Silk Road, we examine the remains of the world's first water dam, as well as remnants of fire towers, fortresses (Daras Anastasiupolis), churches, bridges, water channels, water cisterns, streets, rock tombs, and civilian settlement buildings, showcasing the hospitality of the local people and the vigorous culture of tolerance and love in the region. Finally, we take you to the airport, concluding our tour.
